We know that, whether applying prestressed anchorages or other related products, achieving optimal performance first requires a thorough understanding of the relevant technical knowledge. To better assist you, Zhejiang Anchor Technology’s engineers have compiled the following overview of the application of prestressed anchorages in bridge construction:
(1) Material Selection: Materials are the foundation of prestressed anchor product quality. The quality of the materials significantly affects the performance of anchor wedges; even when using the same steel grade, differences among manufacturers can lead to substantial variations in material properties, resulting in inconsistent production quality.
(2) Prestressing anchorages are highly sophisticated: manufacturers must be duly qualified. The specifications, dimensions, and technical parameters—including the shape, size, angle, and tooth profile of the wedge—of various types of prestressing anchorages are all determined by the design. Given their high level of technical complexity, they cannot be manufactured arbitrarily; they must be fabricated in strict accordance with the design drawings, and only qualified manufacturers are permitted to produce them.
(3) Heat‑treatment process and hardness specifications for anchor wedge plates: The purpose of heat treatment is to increase the hardness of anchor‑device components. Due to variations in heat‑treatment processes and significant differences in material selection, the influence of heat treatment on the hardness of anchor wedge plates becomes increasingly pronounced. National Standard GB/T 14370 specifies only the inspection requirements and sampling ratios for the hardness of anchor wedge plates, but does not set specific hardness limits.
