The following is an introduction to the basic knowledge that new users of prestressed anchorage systems should understand. We hope our explanation will help you gain a clearer understanding. Here are the key points you should know about prestressed anchorage systems:
Knowledge: 1. For wedge-type anchorages, the retraction of the anchorage wedges shall not exceed 6 mm, and the combined losses due to anchor‑mouth friction and bell‑mouth friction should not exceed 6%.
Knowledge Point 2: Anchorage devices shall meet the requirements for staged tensioning, post-tensioning, and relaxation of prestressing tendons. When used in post-tensioned structures, anchorages or their accessories shall be provided with grouting ports or venting ports; the location and diameter of these ports shall comply with the grouting process requirements, and they shall incorporate provisions for connection to grouting pipes. When a sealing cover is employed, the anchorage or its accessories shall be equipped with appropriate connecting details.
Knowledge Point 3: Fixtures shall exhibit excellent self‑anchoring, release, and reusability characteristics. For fixtures that require hammering to release, it must be ensured that such operation does not compromise the anchorage of the prestressing tendons and that operator safety is fully maintained.
Knowledge Point 4: The material properties of anchorages, grips, and connectors shall meet or exceed the requirements for Grade 45 steel and comply with design specifications. They must be accompanied by certificates of conformity for mechanical properties and chemical composition, as well as a quality assurance certificate.
Knowledge Point 5: For anchorages used to secure 915.2 mm‑diameter steel strands, the minimum diameter and minimum thickness of anchor plates with 1 to 21 holes shall comply with the specifications in the following table; anchor plates with 22 or more holes may be designed in accordance with the relevant design documents.
