Hongxi Bridge, Taishun, Zhejiang
The Wentai section of the Longliwen Expressway in Zhejiang is a mountainous highway spanning 56 kilometers, characterized by a high bridge‑tunnel ratio and a diverse array of bridge types, earning it the nickname “the Bridge‑Tunnel Club.” Among its components, the Hongxi Super‑Bridge stands out as the most challenging key project: it spans a V‑shaped canyon whose valley floor lies some 230 meters below the bridge deck, making its construction one of the most demanding in Zhejiang Province.
Hongxi Bridge is situated in a canyon region, with steep terrain on both sides and a deeply incised V-shaped valley. The bridge features a 265-meter main‑span prestressed concrete short‑tower cable-stayed structure, employing three types of cables—15.2‑37, 15.2‑43, and 15.2‑55—totaling 128 cables, along with 1,243 tons of epoxy‑coated single‑wire steel strands. Zhejiang Anchor is responsible for supplying the cable‑stayed cables and providing cable‑installation services for Hongxi Bridge.
